The food here was unreal! I travel a lot for work and I eat loads of steak and the sirloin was exquisite. Service was impeccable and the sticky toffee pudding was light fluffy, just sweet and warm Highly recommend it
Lovely luxurious room and great friendly service from all staff. Super location for the Dales way. Dinner was excellent and bar was full of atmosphere. Breakfast was peaceful and yummy. Full marks for freshly baked croissants!
Old world pub/rest/ hotel in centre of sedburgh. Room 1, brilliant room. Didn't have evening food, at a party somewhere else. Breakfast excellent Accommodation expensive for 1 nights Saturday £200. Drinks expensive, but on par with other places in Sedburgh
I visit regularly for a drink, and have eaten here many times. Service, drinks, food always on point I recommend the lunchtime sandwiches very generous, beef cooked perfectly Evening food, I've had the calamari, steaks, and Sunday roasts, all beautiful Carol and Brian are amazing, delivering great service along with the rest of the team I stayed over in 2023, never reviewed, but a very comfortable stay. Great place
Overall the Dalesman was great. The food was very good quality locally sourced seasonal food, generously portioned. The food and drinks are fairly priced but the food is that good it makes it good value. The staff were great and very welcoming. We stayed in room one which was lovely but does have an almost open plan bathroom / bedroom arrangement which throws privacy out the window lol
Called in Tuesday lunchtime 9th Sept.2025. Great bar service and given fantastic cycling directions to Pendragon Castle from the young woman serving. Included general directions, awareness of potential road closures, turn-offs, Fat Lamb reference?, cattle grids and name of side road (Tommy Road). Brilliant!! Seems like a great place.
We enjoyed an absolutely delicious Sunday lunch here. Food was excellent, as was the service. There was a good range of options; the portion sized were very good and the meat in particular was well cooked and good quality. The atmosphere in the pub was lovely with 2 log fires burning. Only minor negative point is that the women’s toilets were very cold but it was a very cold day when we visited.
Had a lovely meal and drinks. Staff were absolutely fantastic and attentive. And the food delicious. Outside areas are dog friendly. Well worth a visit!
